Fire Safety Services

Fire Risk Assessments

Our team can help you maintain compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 by undertaking your fire risk assessments. We have experience in a wide range of areas, from residential blocks of flats, offices, shops, universities to care homes.

A fire risk assessment is a process involving the systematic evaluation of the factors that determine the hazard from fire, the likelihood that there will be a fire and the consequences if one were to occur.

Our experience in external wall surveys and EWS1 reviews makes us ideally placed to be able to incorporate this as part of your fire risk assessment, saving a costly second visit by a separate fire engineer. We can provide a consolidated fire risk assessment and external wall survey service.

Fire Safety Consultancy & Engineering

Our fire engineers will work with you to develop fire safety solutions that work for you and your business. Whether its a refurbishment, change of use, or a new development, we can tailor a fire strategy to maximise the use of your premises, whilst ensuring life safety standards are achieved.

Fire safety engineering is a recognised method of achieving adequate fire safety in a building. It takes into account the entire fire safety engineering package and is sometimes the only viable method of achieving a satisfactory standard of fire safety in large or complex buildings.

Buildings ‘in scope’ will now require a fire statement at Gateway One, to support the consideration of information on fire safety matters. It is the intention that the information provided within a fire statement is focussed and concise, specific and relevant to the development, and proportionate to the scale, type and complexity of the proposal. A fire statement will evidence that thinking on fire safety matters, as they relate to planning, has been incorporated into the planning application. We can assist with the production of a fire statement for your development.

Fire Stopping & Fire Door surveys

We have vast experience in undertaking fire stopping and fire door surveys in a variety of premises, including Acute Hospitals, Community Healthcare, Offices and Care Homes. We will identify breaches and fire doors requiring remediation, and propose a specification of works to bring the property up to the required standard.

Fire compartmentation is the subdivision of buildings into manageable areas of risk, in order to prevent the spread of fire and smoke, and to provide adequate means of escape. Ensuring appropriate fire separation throughout a building is one of the most effective, but often least considered, means of protecting premises and their occupants.
